Position Overview

We are seeking a hands‑on Operations Manager to lead facility operations for an established industrial distributor and service provider specializing in process control, pressure protection, automation systems, and related technical services.

This position will oversee warehouse and service operations, inventory management, logistics, safety, quality, facility maintenance, employee development, and continuous improvement. The Operations Manager will take ownership of operational results and use KPIs and performance data to improve safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, on‑time delivery, quality, and customer satisfaction.

This leader will also play an important role in developing employees, strengthening processes, improving the customer experience, and supporting continued business growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations professional who enjoys being actively involved in daily operations while driving broader operational excellence and long‑term improvement.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership
  • Lead the facility's daily operations across warehouse, shipping, receiving, assembly, repair, and material‑handling activities.
  • Take ownership of facility‑level operational results and customer‑service performance.
  • Monitor performance against established operational, financial, safety, quality, and customer‑service goals.
  • Establish, track, and communicate KPIs related to safety, quality, inventory, productivity, on‑time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Use operational data to identify trends, address performance gaps, and support informed business decisions.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient shipping, receiving, warehousing, packaging, crating, and transportation activities.
  • Coordinate warehouse, assembly, repair, and shipping priorities to meet customer commitments.
  • Maintain compliance with established policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership and other business units to improve customer experience, employee engagement, and operational performance.
  • Provide regular updates regarding facility results, risks, priorities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Balance immediate operational needs with long‑term process improvement and business‑growth objectives.
Safety Leadership
  • Serve as the site Safety Champion and lead all local safety initiatives.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture focused on hazard identification and risk reduction.
  • Conduct safety observations, audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Verify that employees complete all required safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure employees follow safety procedures and wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and support regulatory compliance.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, process controls, and consistent warehouse practices.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory and warehouse management procedures.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and support annual physical inventory activities.
  • Improve inventory accountability, organization, and material flow.
  • Partner with appropriate teams to address shortages, excess inventory, and material availability concerns.
  • Use inventory metrics to identify recurring issues and improve accuracy.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular, constructive feedback.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability for individual and team performance.
  • Develop cross‑training plans for critical operational functions.
  • Lead onboarding activities for new employees.
  • Ensure required training and certifications are completed and documented.
  • Promote teamwork, employee engagement, continuous learning, and collaboration across business units.
