Overview
Superintendents are responsible for leading construction efforts and overseeing the day-to-day onsite construction activities for large-scale commercial projects, including projects valued at $40M+. This role works collaboratively with internal RCC teams and external partners including subcontractors, project owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and union trades to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. Superintendents are expected to maintain a strong “big picture” understanding of their projects, proactively manage priorities, and independently resolve issues as they arise.
This position plays a critical role in jobsite leadership, safety culture, quality control, and overall project execution.
Safety
- Keep jobsite OSHA compliant
- Prepare and maintain job specific emergency action plan
- Keep site stocked with PPE and all necessary safety equipment/signage
- Complete all necessary safety documentation forms
- Estimate vs cost report
- Subcontractors/scope
- Look ahead schedule vs base line schedule
- Budget Management/quantity tracking/time entry
- Project documentation (SWPPP, Daily Reports, Concrete logs)
- Invoice, material, and equipment tracking
- Contract drawings and submittals
- Logistics/Construction sequence
- Time management/self-perform crew management & coordination
- Site/building layout and controls
- Material/equipment management coordination
- QA/QC
- Team RCC - Estimating, PM, Safety, Yard
- Unions trade scope & compliance
- OAC
- Subcontractors
- 5+ years’ field management experience
- Trade School, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or Similar Field is ideal
- Strong organizational skills, good time management, professionalism, and ability to work well with others. Sense of selflessness / humility / enterprise first mentality, emotional and social intelligence.
- Certifications/Licenses required = OSHA 10
- Preferred: LEED, PMP
- Computer and technology skills preferred
- Bluebeam experience a plus
