Travel RN - Operating Room - First Assist

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RNFA for a travel contract at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring CNOR certification and at least 2 years of experience.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital OR setting at a 97-bed Magnet-designated facility,

• Surgical specialties include general surgery, GYN, ENT (including pediatric cases), plastics, urology, orthopedic sports medicine, ortho hand, podiatry, and bronchoscopy,

• Da Vinci XI robotic system used, primarily supporting general and GYN procedures,

• 1:1 patient-to-nurse ratio with an average daily census of 15 across 4 rooms,

• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM-5:15 PM) with a varying day off,

• On-call required: one weekday night per week and every 6th weekend (Friday 5:15 PM through Monday 6:45 AM),

• Floating required within service line and scope; primary location may float to a secondary OR site as needed,

• Charting via Epic,

• Scrubs are provided,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; pending IL license may be accepted at time of consideration,

• Minimum 2 years of RNFA experience required,

• Active certifications required: BLS and CNOR (required for credentialing),

• Epic EMR experience required,

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible,

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,

• Former permanent employees of BJC facilities must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler,

• Travelers may remain for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required,

• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation,

• Start date is contingent on the privileging process, which is estimated to take 2-3 months,
