BJC Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Assistant Manager, ED – Emergency Department for a nursing job in O'Fallon, Illinois.
OverviewMemorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services plus critical and emergency care. The Emergency Department manages a broad spectrum of emergencies including cardiopulmonary arrest, trauma, motor vehicle accidents, industrial accidents, and child and domestic violence injuries.
Role PurposeCoordinates patient care, personnel management, maintenance of equipment, equipment purchased, and statistical accumulation.
Responsibilities- Manages individuals including hiring, training, assigning work, managing and evaluating performance, and conducting professional development plans.
- Ensures the productivity and actions of the group meet the overall operational goals of the department.
- May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and has direct responsibility for adhering to those goals.
- Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions based on their age and developmental needs, documents per policy.
- Creates and ensures implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis and medical treatment.
- Reviews staff hours worked vs scheduled hours, determines appropriate disposition if variation exists.
- Performs and approves daily payroll updates, reconciles time cards, tracks bonuses and approves coding.
- Prepares, coordinates and executes all staff communications; prepares huddle agendas and leads meetings.
- Determines staffing needs, assigns nursing duties and overtime.
- Recommends effective annual increases.
- Interviews staff for open positions, evaluates and conducts performance reviews, drafts and issues corrective actions/coaching, and follows up on disciplinary actions.
- Conducts performance evaluations and recommends areas for improvement.
- Education
:
Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing; 2–5 years experience. - Preferred Education
:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; 5–10 years experience. - Supervisor Experience
:
None required (preferred < 2 years). - Licenses & Certifications
:
Registered Nurse (RN).
