Registered Nurse; RN - GI Lab

Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – GI Lab – O'Fallon, Illinois

• 8‑hour day shifts
• 6‑9AM staggered start times
• 45‑minute call response time; call requirement
• 30‑40 procedures per day

• Provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of nursing standards.
• Promotes patient‑ and family‑centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on illness management, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Assists in professional development opportunities.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team members, the patient and their family or caregiver.
• Proactively plans and communicates the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
• Assesses patient preferences, barriers, values, emotional, spiritual, cultural preferences and specific population needs.
• Maintains a constant state of alertness in a safety‑sensitive environment (essential function).

• Education:
  
  Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Licensure:
  Current RN license.
• Experience:
  
  No prior experience required; up to 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
• No required supervisory or management experience.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Less than 2 years of experience.
• Experience in GI Lab or related clinical area (implied).
