Senior Accountant

About the Opportunity

Pennant Services, Inc. seeks a talented and energetic GL Accountant to support our growing healthcare client base across the United States. The role is based in Salt Lake City, Utah and requires a degree in accounting or finance, and a current or future CPA license.

• Responsible for the general ledger month‑end close of 10–12 locations.
• Review and follow up on monthly financial results with field locations and the Controller.
• Prepare general ledger entries to ensure completeness and accuracy for month‑end close.
• Generate and review operating statements, compare actual results to historical trends, investigate and explain variances, and analyze key accounts.
• Review vendor invoices for accuracy, appropriate coding, and accrue when necessary.
• Ensure month‑end close and financial reporting deadlines are met and all activities comply with GAAP.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations of selected asset and liability accounts.
• Compile all supporting documentation for balances in these accounts.
• Maintain and monitor applicable SOX controls, including contact with centers to ensure completeness.
• Provide support to internal and external auditors as required.

• 1–4+ years of relevant experience in an accounting function.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Solid analytical and technical accounting skills.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Sage experience preferred.
• Team player, strong leadership potential, highly motivated, and able to work under pressure during peak periods.
• Skilled nursing healthcare experience is a plus.

Compensation:
Based on experience.
