Job Description & How to Apply Below

We're looking for a PLM & Inventory Lifecycle Manager to own the discipline between planning and margin protection. This role ensures no SKU becomes obsolete due to inaction, delayed decisions, or lack of cross-functional alignment. You'll protect inventory value, working capital, and gross margin by actively managing product lifecycle transitions, building predictive controls, and maintaining data integrity across a rapidly scaling consumer products business.

Demand planning determines how much we buy. Supply planning determines how we execute. You'll ensure that what we own continues to move intentionally and profitably.

What You'll Do Lifecycle Governance
  • Own lifecycle stage definitions and tracking for every SKU (Launch, Growth, Mature, Slow, Exit)
  • Maintain velocity, age, and margin tracking with clear exit triggers for each SKU
  • Build and maintain real-time lifecycle dashboards by SKU, variant, channel, and capital exposure
  • Build structured wind-down playbooks for seasonal products, limited editions, packaging transitions, and discontinued SKUs
  • Drive SKU rationalization and ensure no SKU remains in "slow" status without an action plan
  • Integrate lifecycle logic directly into demand and supply planning processes
Inventory Aging & Risk Monitoring
  • Conduct weekly aging reviews and identify early indicators of velocity decay, channel saturation, and excess inventory
  • Develop SKU-level action plans before aging thresholds are crossed and escalate material risk early
  • Build capital-at-risk modeling to quantify exposure by lifecycle stage
Predictive & Automated Controls
  • Develop early-warning systems for overstock risk, stockout risk, and aging thresholds
  • Build automated alerts for no movement, sales vs inventory mismatch, and supplier portal vs ERP variance
  • Implement automated KPI triggers to reduce reliance on manual audits and ad-hoc analysis
  • Flag system discrepancies automatically rather than discovering them manually
Data Validation & Systems
  • Own accuracy of inventory, sales, and incoming PO data
  • Partner with Systems team to establish daily validation checks and automated health checks
  • Improve data reliability between supplier portals, ERP, and Big Query
  • Create documentation and control standards
Launch Readiness
  • Ensure every new SKU has a defined launch plan, forecast guardrails, and replenishment logic
  • Track launch inventory readiness and flag risks before go-live
  • Coordinate phase-outs to ensure clean transitions
Channel Reallocation & Markdown Strategy
  • Recommend channel reallocation and markdown actions based on age, velocity, margin, and capital exposure
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Finance on promotions, bundling, wholesale allocation, and margin validation
  • Ensure markdown timing is intentional and margin‑aware
  • Avoid reactive liquidation whenever possible
  • Model financial tradeoffs between discount timing, hold risk, and channel shifts
  • Provide clear visibility into overall inventory health
  • Support improvements in inventory turns, gross margin ROI, and cash conversion cycle
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years in inventory management, merchandise planning, or product lifecycle management
  • Experience with multi‑channel retail (DTC, Amazon, wholesale)
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and inventory/ERP systems
  • Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite preferred) and data tools (Big Query or similar)
  • Track record of cross‑functional collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Finance
  • Experience building dashboards, automated alerts, and reporting for inventory health metrics
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in consumer products, apparel, or hardgoods
  • Background in S&OP or demand planning environments
  • SQL or BI tool experience (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Familiarity with aging inventory strategies, markdown optimization, and liquidation channels
  • Experience with high‑SKU‑count businesses across multiple product categories
  • Proven success improving inventory turns and reducing obsolescence
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
Key Success Metrics
  • % inventory aged beyond threshold
  • Obsolescence write‑offs
  • Inventory turns (in partnership with planning)
  • % SKUs with defined exit plan
  • Time from "slow" classification to action
  • Margin impact from markdown timing
  • Forecast‑to‑inventory alignment accuracy
  • Stockout rate
  • Launch inventory readiness %
