Procurement Specialist (Ogden, UT) – Hybrid, 1 day a week onsite

About the teamThis role supports company‑wide purchasing and vendor management by partnering closely with Finance, Legal, IT, and operational leaders. The Procurement Specialist ensures purchases are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the company’s strategy while continuously improving procurement processes and tools to support Becklar’s rapid growth. As the company’s first dedicated procurement hire, this individual will build and formalize the procurement function from the ground up, establishing scalable processes, governance, and best practices that support long‑term growth.
Whatyou’ll do
- Support day‑to‑day procurement operations across software, services, and operational spend
- Design, implement, and continuously improve procurement processes and workflows, driving adoption and organizational buy‑in across departments
- Manage purchase intake and guide stakeholders through requisitions, approvals, RFPs/RFQs, and procurement workflows
- Support contract review, negotiation, and execution in partnership with Finance and business leaders, ensuring agreements are cost‑effective, commercially sound, and do not expose the company to unnecessary risk
- Build and maintain accurate vendor, contract, and renewal data in procurement and financial systems
- Proactively monitor contract renewals and communicate timelines to stakeholders, initiating renewal or sourcing activities well in advance to ensure thoughtful evaluation and negotiation
- Support the administration and optimization of procurement tools and processes to ensure data quality and efficiency
- Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to align purchases with budgets and company policies
- Monitor supplier performance and assist with vendor reviews and service‑level compliance
- Identify and drive cost‑savings opportunities through strategic sourcing, negotiation, vendor consolidation, and spend analysis
- Communicate progress, risks, and updates to relevant stakeholders
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and confidentiality in all procurement activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3‑5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, finance, vendor management, or a related operational role
- Exposure to SaaS/software, professional services, or technology‑driven environments preferred
- Ability to support contract review and negotiations for software and services spend
- Experience with ERP, PO, or procurement systems (Net Suite, Coupa, Spend hound, Zip, Brex, or similar preferred)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when working with spend and vendor data
- Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with Finance, Legal, IT, and business teams
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities in a fast‑paced environment
