Summary

A commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee Target grocery store remodels, retail buildouts, tilt-up / tilt-wall construction, and ground‑up commercial projects. This role is for a field leader who has direct experience working in active retail environments and running tilt‑up builds from start to finish. The position offers steady commercial work and long‑term stability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run day-to-day jobsite operations for grocery stores, retail remodels, rollouts, tenant improvements, and ground‑up commercial projects
  • Oversee tilt-up / tilt-wall construction including panel sequencing, embeds, crane coordination, inspections, and pours
  • Manage subcontractors, site logistics, safety, and daily production
  • Build and maintain project schedules, including shutdowns, night work, and occupied-store phasing
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager on RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field documentation
  • Lead daily huddles and weekly coordination meetings with trades and field teams
  • Ensure quality control, cleanliness, and safety standards are met at all times
  • Review drawings, scopes, and sequencing prior to each phase of construction
  • Track manpower, material deliveries, inspections, and punch list completion
  • Provide daily reports, photos, and jobsite updates to office leadership
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Direct experience running grocery store or retail construction projects in active environments required
  • Ground‑up commercial construction experience required
  • Hands‑on experience with tilt-up or tilt-wall construction required
  • Experience managing night work, shutdowns, and store‑in‑operation projects
  • Strong understanding of sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and jobsite safety
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and scopes
  • Strong communication skills and field leadership ability
