Job Summary /Basic Function
- This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
This position will help prepare the student for a career in graphic design through hands-on experience, including communicating with clients from a variety of program areas, fulfilling project requirements, designing within printer specifications and meeting deadlines. It will also provide the student with design pieces for their portfolio. This position reports to the Marketing Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
Applicant must have creative design skills and demonstrable knowledge of composition design as well as a working knowledge of the Adobe Suite i.e. Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop. Student will be required to take publications to the copy center or printing services for print. The applicant must be outgoing and willing to help plan activities and events. Prefer applicants with awarded work-study status (please be prepared to provide documentation of work-study status).

- Knowledge of AP Style
- Organized and detail oriented
- Drive to learn about the industry
- Designing clear and engaging graphics for print (including fliers, posters, brochures, banners)
- Adapting print designs for web applications (including social media graphics, web banners and digital graphics for the CR & Davis Digital Signage)
- Following WSU branding standards
- Completing designs by assigned due dates
- Continued training through personalized training programs via Linked In Learning
- Provide a safe environment and safe activities for all participants (Leadership and Management)
- Provide care in emergency situations when necessary (Critical Thinking)
- Maintain a professional, friendly, attentive presence
- Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of all facilities
- Educate, observe and enforce all facility rules in a friendly and helpful manner (Critical Thinking)
- Educate participants on benefits of fitness and wellness
- Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Attend mandatory monthly meetings, orientations and staff development workshops (Responsibility and Accountability)
