Job Summary /Basic FunctionThe Basic Needs Resource Specialist serves as a primary student-facing point of contact for the Weber State University Basic Needs Center. The position is primarily responsible for front desk operations, welcoming students, providing general information, scheduling appointments, responding to communications, and helping students connect with Basic Needs Center services and resources.
The position is cross-trained in basic needs resource navigation, emergency funding, financial wellness, FAFSA assistance, and outreach. The Specialist supports a “No Wrong Door” approach by ensuring students receive information, assistance, or an appropriate referral regardless of how they initially connect with the Center.
Required QualificationsSeeking applicants with the following skills and abilities:
- Energetic and outgoing; customer service oriented
- Ability to organize
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Physical Requirements of this positionSedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or consistently to move objects, including the human body. Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing only occasionally if ever.
