This position is for current tutors/coaches/SI Leaders/Learning Assistants working in Learning Support only.
ESOL tutors meet weekly for 30 minute tutoring sessions with students enrolled in WLC 2810 and 1810. The purpose of this tutoring is:
* Help students build English conversation skills on topics related to the WLC course content.
* Support students' sense of belonging in their first or second semester as a WSU student. Direct them to campus resources and help them get involved with WSU events as applicable.
This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications
* Must be a WSU student and currently tutoring in the Learning Support Department
* Must have completed the first semester of CRLA training (Advanced Tutor) or first semester of SI/LA training
* Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to lead and direct conversations with tutees
Preferred Qualifications
* Completed second semester of CRLA training (Master Tutor) or second semester of of SI/LA training
* Knowledge of second language acquisition
* Knowledge of campus resources outside of tutoring
