This is a paid internship opportunity for students majoring in an English Language and Literature program. This position is designed to fulfill the internship requirement for ENGL 4120 or other composition courses, and will take no more than two consecutive semesters to be completed. Open Educational Resources (OER) are free and openly licensed educational materials that can be used for teaching, learning, and research.
This position will work with the OER Specialist, librarians and professors in locating, adapting, and creating high quality OER and other affordable course materials. In addition, they will provide editing and layout assistance in publishing "open" learning materials in the Press books platform. This position may also assist with OER outreach and promotional strategies across the campuses.
Required Qualifications
Must be a current full-time WSUstudent with a minimum
GPAof 2.0
Preferred Qualifications
* Detail-oriented student with research and editing experience
* Self-motivated and able to work on projects individually and manage multiple projects at once
* Excellent communication skills, including but not limited to: technical writing, computer skills, and professional communication

Physical Requirements of this position Light work. Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than that for sedentary work. Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures;
transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading. The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
