PositionSummary
Teaching Assistant to support instructors in MA English courses (ENGL 1010, 2010, or 2000‑level introductory courses). Hours 4‑8 per week, 4 months per year, hourly wage $18/hr plus a $1,000 tuition waiver/scholarship.
Responsibilities- Attend each assigned class and observe pedagogical methods under supervision.
- Assist in the classroom: take attendance, distribute and collect materials, circulate items, answer student questions.
- Assist beyond the classroom: respond to student emails, meet with students, provide formative feedback, grade assignments under instructor supervision.
- Prepare, deliver, and reflect on five individual lessons over the semester.
- Current student in the Master of Arts in English Program.
- Work‑study eligible with FAFSA on file.
- Higher availability for easier coordination with mentor instructors.
- No prior TAship or GIship.
- Hourly wage: $18 per hour.
- Tuition waiver/scholarship of $1,000.
- Ability to accrue up to two total TAship semesters (not required consecutively).
- No background check required.
