Learning Assistants support students by
* attending the course in which they are embedded;
* functioning as a mentor, coach, and tutor to students in the course;
* holding review sessions and/or tutoring hours outside class to help students retain course material, including coaching students on study strategies; and
* attending training sessions as mandated by the Learning Assistant supervisor.
Required Qualifications
* Must have taken a class that we offer Learning Assistant's for and gotten a B or better (If you have taken a class equivalent to one we hire for, or taken higher level classes in that subject, you may also be considered). * Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be reliable and confident in subject area.

Physical Requirements of this position Light work. Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than that for sedentary work. Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures;
transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading. The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
