Position Overview
The Part-Time Math Aide provides instructional and administrative support to math teachers, assisting students in improving their understanding and performance in mathematics. This position is designed to support both junior and senior high school students in a variety of math subjects, including foundational math, algebra, geometry, and calculus.
Key Responsibilities- Assist math teachers during instructional periods by working with small groups or individual students.
- Provide clarification and reinforcement of math concepts and problem-solving strategies.
- Monitor student progress during lessons and help address difficulties in real-time.
- Offer one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions during designated times, such as study periods, before/after school, or lunch breaks.
- Help students prepare for quizzes, tests, and standardized exams.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials, worksheets, and resources.
- Assist with grading homework, quizzes, and tests under the direction of the teacher.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
- Support a positive and productive learning environment by reinforcing classroom rules and expectations.
- Help manage classroom transitions and assist with setting up technology or materials for lessons.
- Work closely with math teachers to identify students' needs and tailor support accordingly.
- Communicate with teachers about student progress and challenges.
