The Student Engagement & Success Program Manager supports student retention, persistence, sense of belonging, and overall student success through proactive outreach, individualized student support, engagement programming, and campus collaboration.
This position develops and coordinates educational, cultural, leadership, and community-building initiatives that help students successfully navigate the university experience and build meaningful connections to Weber State University. The position also provides individualized support, resource navigation, and outreach for students from a variety of backgrounds and lived experiences, including first‑generation students, returning students, transfer students, low‑income students, and other student populations experiencing barriers to success.
The Program Manager collaborates with campus departments, student organizations, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners to support engagement opportunities and student success initiatives aligned with the mission and goals of the Student Success Center and Weber State University.
Key Responsibilities- Provide proactive outreach, individualized support, resource referrals, and success planning for students.
- Connect students with campus and community resources to address academic, financial, personal, and transition‑related needs.
- Develop, coordinate, and assess educational, cultural, leadership, wellness, and community‑building programs and events.
- Serve as a lead coordinator for assigned engagement initiatives, including heritage/history month programming and related campus collaborations.
- Support student retention, persistence, and re‑engagement efforts through outreach, engagement tracking, and data‑informed practices.
- Assist with Student Success Center Scholarship Program initiatives, communications, and student engagement efforts.
- Collaborate with campus and community partners, support promotional efforts, maintain required records and assessments, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Social Work, Counseling, Communications, Leadership, Sociology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- One year experience working with student programs, student engagement, student support services, event coordination, or related areas in higher education or community‑based settings.
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Leadership, Social Work, Counseling, Sociology, or a related field.
- Experience developing, implementing, and assessing educational, cultural, leadership, academic success, or student engagement programming.
- Experience planning collaborative campus events and working with campus and community partners.
- Knowledge of marketing, outreach, and communication strategies including social media and digital engagement tools.
- Experience utilizing student information systems, outreach platforms, or assessment/data tracking practices.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
