Hourly Pay Rate: $12-$15 DOE
Job Summary /Basic FunctionWill be involved in all aspects of Center for Technology Outreach programming to include planning, preparation, execution and take down at multiple events each semester, including solo travel and outreach at booth events. Help prepare for short and long-term events, build and/or assemble materials and supplies, ensure technology is available and working as needed, move equipment to and from facility to events and make suggestions and problem solve as appropriate.
Assist in the execution of a variety of STEM focused events, primarily for K-12 audiences, while working effectively with people of all ages. Promote the College of Engineering, Applied Science & Technology and its goals. Organize the outreach room and keep track of materials and supplies as needed.
Act in a leadership role for WSU PREP summer academic enrichment school for approximately 150 7-9th grade students. Schedule and oversee nine program assistants, ensure paperwork and files are complete and organized, communicate schedules, trips, etc. to students, parents and other staff members. Work with teachers to ensure they have supplies, copies, etc. they need to teach. Answer inquiries, work with students as needed if problems arise, call parents as necessary.
Ensure drop‑off & pick‑up procedures are followed. Communicate with field trip locations, daily speakers, etc. Act as an assistant to the Program Manager in accomplishing related tasks as needed for the successful execution of the WSU PREP summer school.
- Two years of completed college coursework in science, math, engineering, technology or education or related areas.
- Experience working with the WSU PREP or other PREP program (UVU or AIS) for one or more summers.
