Job Description: The Department of Visual Art & Design (DOVAD) at Weber State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track,instructor position to begin July 1, 2027. We seek a candidate whowill contribute in meaningful ways to the department, college, and university's continuing commitment to student success and belonging. The successful candidate will primarily teach in the department's lower-division General Education and Foundationscurricula (Foundations courses are designed to teach art majorsbasic visual literacy and making skills), and will serve as the department's Concurrent Enrollment Liaison.

The person in this position will also participate in departmental service opportunities and faculty governance. The breakdown of duties is approximately 60% time teaching, 25% overseeing Concurrent Enrollment and 15% scholarship and/or service.

DOVAD is committed to serving students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences and we seek candidates with experience supporting the learning needs of these students. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills are necessary.

NOTE: This is a one-year Instructor appointmentrenewable by separate contract at the sole discretion of the University.

• Teaching a load of 8 to 11 credit hours (three courses),primarily in Creative Arts General Education and Foundationscourses each Fall and Spring semester. The Creative Arts General Education curriculum in DOVAD includes two, three-credit load hournon-majors courses and two four-credit load hour studio courses.
  
  Other Foundations and studio courses are four credit hours of teaching load. Teaching assignments in the studio courses will bebased on department needs and the candidate's area of interest.
• Oversight of department Concurrent Enrollment (CE) high schoolinstructors. This includes annual evaluation of all CE instructors(including classroom observations), mentorship of CE faculty, and oversight of adherence to WSU's standards and essential learning outcomes for Creative Arts General Education.
• Participate in faculty self-governance through service.

• MFA in Visual Art, Design, Visual Studies, or a related field ofstudy.
• Experience in teaching at the university level.

Preferred Qualifications: Capacity to respond in pedagogically productive ways to the learning needs of all students is preferred.
