Electrical Detailer (Mid-Level Experience)

The Electrical VDC Detailer plays a key role in supporting the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems using cutting-edge Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) tools. This role requires strong technical expertise, collaboration skills, and attention to detail to ensure project accuracy, constructability, and efficiency.

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed 3D electrical models using Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or similar BIM/VDC platforms.
• Create coordinated electrical layouts including conduit, cable tray, lighting, power, fire alarm conduit, and other low-voltage systems.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other trades to resolve clashes and ensure constructability.
• Generate and manage shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Conduct clash detection and participate in coordination meetings to resolve field conflicts before construction.
• Apply company and project BIM/VDC standards and contribute to process improvements.

• 2–4 years of experience in electrical detailing, drafting, or BIM/VDC coordination.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other VDC/BIM platforms.
• Strong knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) and industry best practices.
• Familiarity with construction sequencing, prefabrication, and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, one-lines, and specifications.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with cloud-based collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360, Procore, Bluebeam).
• Exposure to design-build or design-assist delivery methods.
• Background in electrical contracting or field installation experience.
