This position is for a Senior Electrical Engineer, located in Ogden, UT, who will prepare designs for electrical systems associated with DOD and USAF projects. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, a can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. This role will specifically support the USAF Sentinel program Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase.

• Support design development of electrical systems and equipment for the Sentinel program by preparing engineering studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.
• Work with and mentor junior electrical engineers and collaborate with other technical disciplines in a team environment.
• Develop new design drawings using AutoCAD such as single lines, panel schedules, schematics, cable block diagrams, grounding, lightning protection, cathodic protection, and more.
• Perform power system analysis modeling and calculations using ETAP, including Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor starting, Relay Coordination, and Arc Flash.
• Other facility calculations include lighting design using AGI 32, facility ground grid sizing using ETAP, and underground cable thermal de-rating analysis using ETAP.
• Perform equipment sizing calculations for medium voltage and low voltage transformers, panel boards, surge protective devices, uninterruptible power supplies, and battery sizing.
• Perform circuit breaker and cable sizing calculations per NFPA 70 with de-rating factors.
• Develop equipment and material specifications using Specs Intact.
• Develop procurement documentation (written scopes of work) and perform supplier proposal evaluations.
• Review vendor submittals and integrate information into the design.
• Coordinate system requirement development and verifications with Systems engineering and the client.

Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience.

• Must be a US citizen.
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check (verification of employment and education).
• Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs and other common computer programs.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively.
• Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
• Broad knowledge of electrical engineering design principles.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems for part of, or all of, the responsibilities listed above.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, systems calculations, equipment sizing, and cable sizing.
• Strong knowledge of power systems load modeling and analysis.
• Preferred:
  Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Electrical Engineering).
• Preferred:
  Experience with quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000.
• Preferred:
  Prior experience with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
• Preferred:
  Experience executing engineering design with Smartplant 3D.
• Preferred:
  Experience performing calculations with ETAP.

  Understanding of Mechanical and Process engineering drawings and system calculations related to electrical design requirements.
