Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking senior-level Electrical Designers to provide design support for the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel (formerly GBSD) program in Ogden, UT. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch infrastructure at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND.
Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground based leg of the nuclear triad -- the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is an on-site position that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e., every other Friday off), paid overtime, and a great work/life balance. For candidates not local to the Ogden area, a relocation allowance can be provided.

Key Duties
- Lead and support the preparation of electrical design deliverables, including 3D models, 2D drawings, material specifications, and installation details in compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Model electrical rooms, equipment, raceways, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection systems using Smart Plant 3D, Smart Sketch, AutoCAD, and related tools.
- Create bills of materials, perform electrical design calculations (e.g., lighting layouts with AGI 32, ground grid layouts with ETAP), and prepare procurement documentation using Specs Intact.
- Coordinate design activities and resolve interface issues with other engineering disciplines, systems engineering, and clients to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
- Review and check design deliverables for quality, accuracy, and completeness; participate in constructability reviews and jobsite visits as required.
- Mentor and support less experienced designers, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to Bechtel and industry design practices.
Required Skills, Experience, and
Education:

- Ability to obtain an Active Secret clearance in a reasonable timeframe.

- Knowledge and application of NEC code and NEMA/ANSI/IEEE standards.
- Experience with an electronic Cable Management System (e.g., SETROUTE), including the ability to input data and perform database corrections.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other disciplines and manage competing deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
- Relevant experience in preparing electrical system and equipment drawings for nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building electrical systems.
- Proficient with a 3D CAD tool for electrical design.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in engineering and office automation tools.
- Broad knowledge of electrical engineering design principles, electrical systems, schematics, and layouts.
- Familiarity with Bechtel corporate guides and standards, as well as thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables such as drawings and specifications.
- Ability to resolve design issues both independently and in collaboration with engineering disciplines, construction teams, and clients.
- Experience modeling piping, HVAC, and mechanical equipment in a Smart Plant 3D environment.
