# Project Overview:

Bechtel is on the Northrop Grumman Corp. team preparing to deliver the U.S. Sentinel system of inter-continental ballistic missiles and launch infrastructure. Sentinel is a vital U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nation's aging force of inter-continental ballistic missiles, which make up the ground element of the nuclear deterrent. As part of the Northrop Grumman Sentinel nationwide team, Bechtel will provide launch system design, construction, and integration.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for project's electrical engineering aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of electrical components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure uniquely complex requirements of project's electrical engineering aspects are met.

This position is for a Senior Electrical Engineer, located in Ogden, UT, who will prepare designs for electrical systems associated with DOD and USAF projects. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. This role will specifically support the USAF Sentinel program Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase.

# Major Responsibilities:

** Level I*
* + Evaluates, selects, and applies standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria for a small size project or assignment.

+ Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).

+ Prepares or assists in preparation of studies, designs, reports, or proposals.

+ Coordinates electrical engineering efforts other engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction, and other functional groups.

+ Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project electrical requirements.

** Level II*
* + Plans and conducts independent electrical work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of electrical engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on a medium size.

+ Supports preparation of estimates, staffing needs, and schedules.

+ Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget.

+ Coordinates with client representatives, as directed, to obtain their approvals.

+ Support design development of electrical systems and equipment design for the Sentinel project by preparing engineering studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.

+ Develops new design drawings such as single lines, panel schedules, schematics, cable block diagrams, grounding, lightning protection, cathodic protection, and more.

+ Performs power system analysis modeling and calculations utilizing ETAP. Calculations will include Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting, Relay Coordination, Arc Flash.

+ Other facility calculations include, lighting design, facility ground grid sizing and underground cable thermal de-rating analysis.
