At Northrop Grumman, the Principal Systems Engineer will support the System Test Team in Roy, UT, focusing on requirements and verification for the Sentinel missile program. The role involves collaborating with Integrated Product Teams, managing test plans, and ensuring traceability of system-level requirements.
Responsibilities- Identify, analyze, review, and refine system-level requirements in partnership with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and the customer.
- Allocate requirements to test teams (lab, ground, flight) and keep Integrated Test Plans/Verification Plans current.
- Document verification needs, develop verification artifacts, generate requirement verification reports, and manage approval workflows.
- Create and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for test tools and facilities.
- Collaborate across disciplines—mechanical, software, test, and program management—to gain end-to-end insight into the Sentinel missile and Northrop Grumman processes.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (< 6 yrs), with an ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period.
- Familiarity with the Systems Engineering process and test engineering practices.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Hands‑on test engineering or test execution work.
- Systems Engineering experience on aerospace or defense programs.
- Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS).
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance (less than 5 years).
- Prior employment with MMIII or Sentinel Weapon Systems.

The standard work schedule is 9/80, allowing every other Friday off.
Salary RangePrimary level: $98,400.00 – $. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long‑term incentives for senior positions.
