Job Summary / Basic Function

As a Stage Technician, you will assist with the set‑up, strike, and run of all shows that take place at the Val

A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts (VBC). You will be trained while working through hands‑on experience in departmental, university, and professional touring company shows. While the VBC facilitates over 200 events a year, hours vary depending on the show schedules. Most shifts will take place in the afternoon and evenings with very few morning calls. Pay starts at $10.00 an hour but will be adjusted according to skill level and motivation to excel in the areas of stage management, lighting, sound, A/V, rigging, and other various skills.

Qualifications
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform minor physical labor.
  • Not afraid of heights.
  • Interest in sound, lighting, A/V or stage management is preferred.
