Overview
Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!
Substance abuse counselors will assist patients through medically assisted treatment programs and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselors conduct group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselors will evaluate patients’ progress during therapy and may collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists to optimize treatment outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
- Respond to patient grievances and complaints
- Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
- Involve families and significant others in the patient’s recovery process whenever possible
- Facilitate, establish and review the initial treatment plan with each patient
- Other related duties as determined by supervisor
- Must hold an ASUDC, CASUDC, CASUDC-I, SUDC, CSUDC, CSUD-I, LMHC, CMHC, LPS, LCSW, CSW, or SSW in the state of Utah
- Associate and/or bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences
- Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
