medical billing professional who handles the insurance and payment process for a chiropractic office. Their main job is to make sure the clinic gets paid correctly for services provided to patients.
Responsibilities- Manage Apex (reconcile EOB’s, check and work payer rejected report)
- Reconcile mail payments
- Reconcile Zelis direct deposits
- Manage insurance credentialing
- Patient Accounts Receivable Report - check line by line - monthly
- Insurance Receivable Report - check line by line - monthly
- Research and reconcile take backs
- Add patient’s insurances into system
- Reply to emails
- Research insurance denials and re-bill
- Calculate and submit payroll and bonus for processing
- VA Authorizations
- Quality Review of patient accounts/Soap notes
- Manage auto billing and attorney correspondence
- Mail out patient statements monthly
- Print and mail auto claims weekly
- Resolve patient billing concerns
- Manage insurance Logins spreadsheet
- Back up insurance verification
Detail oriented, reliable and likes structure.
Communicate professionally with the physicians, patients and others both in person and through phone, email.
Additional Information- Insurance billing:
Submit claims to insurance companies for chiropractic treatments (adjustments, therapy, exams, X-rays, etc.). - Medical coding:
Use proper billing codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) to describe diagnoses and treatments. - Verify patient insurance:
Check coverage, benefits, deductibles, and pre-authorization requirements. - Process payments:
Post insurance payments and patient payments to accounts. - Handle claim denials or rejections:
Fix errors, resubmit claims, and follow up with insurance companies. - Patient billing:
Send statements and explain charges or balances to patients. - Maintain records and compliance:
Ensure billing follows healthcare laws and insurance rules.
