Job Summary
The Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing pharmacy clinical programs including formulary management, policy and procedure development, and education across the healthcare spectrum. The Clinical Manager shall also assist in managing the pharmacy when the Pharmacy Director or designee is unavailable.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and manage various pharmacy clinical programs.
- Provide clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners, suggesting appropriate, cost‑effective therapeutic alternatives as needed.
- Identify, design, and analyze drug utilization reviews to promote rational drug therapy and determine action plans based on results.
- Document all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely.
- Develop and actively participate in training and mentorship programs for pharmacists, pharmacy students, residents, technicians, nurses, and physicians, and assess participants in these programs.
- Develop and document staff clinical competency on an ongoing basis and develop improvement plans when deficiencies in competencies are identified.
- Prioritize work and lead others to comply with facility medication turn‑around time policy and procedure, identifying areas for improved efficiency.
- Help ensure that the department is in compliance with JCAHO requirements, Drug Enforcement Administration, State Board of Pharmacy, hospital policies and procedures, and other federal and state regulations.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Licensed Pharmacist (PHARM‑CS) with Controlled Substance designation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience.
