Job Summary and QualificationsThe Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing and managing pharmacy clinical programs, including formulary management, policy and procedure development, and education across the healthcare spectrum. The Clinical Manager shall also assist in managing the pharmacy when the Pharmacy Director or designee is unavailable. In this role you will:
- You will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing various pharmacy clinical programs.
- You will provide clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners and suggest appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff as needed.
- You will identify, design and analyze drug utilization reviews to promote rational drug therapy and determine action plans based on results.
- You will document all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely.
- You will develop and actively participate in training and mentorship programs for pharmacists, pharmacy students, residents, technicians, nurses and physicians and assess participants in these programs.
- You will develop and document staff clinical competency on an ongoing basis and develop improvement plans when deficiencies in competencies are identified.
- You will prioritize work and lead others to comply with facility medication turn‑around time policy and procedure, and identify areas for improved efficiency.
- You will help to ensure that the department is in compliance with JCAHO requirements, Drug Enforcement Administration, State Board of Pharmacy, hospital policies and procedures, and other Federal and State regulations.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pharmacist (PHARM-CSS) Pharmacist - Controlled Substance.
- Bachelors Degree.
- Two (2) years experience required.
