This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and offers the option to work between 9 and 12 months per year. The number of months worked annually will be established at the time of hire between the selected candidate and hiring supervisor. Employees working less than 12 months annually will be placed on Not Scheduled to Work leave during periods not scheduled to work.
PurposeProvide primary medical care to the student population at the University of Texas at Austin.
Responsibilities- Provides primary medical healthcare services to the student population at the University of Texas at Austin as a University Health Services (UHS) General Medicine Provider
- Participates in committees, policy revisions, and peer review
- Participates in the overall goals of the organization Reviews and demonstrates compliance with UHS and departmental policies and procedures
- Exhibits professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service in all aspects of work.
- Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance pattern.
- Other related functions as assigned.
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies
- Current license from the Texas Medical Board, without pending or current disciplinary action
- Certificate of graduation from an approved Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant
- Current National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants to practice as a Physician Assistant
- Four years of experience in primary care as a Physician Assistant
- Experience using electronic medical records
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
- Master's degree in nursing (MSN)
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited School of Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner Program
- Current APRN license in the state of Texas, without pending or current disciplinary action
- Current registration from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners, without any pending or current disciplinary action
- Certification by the Texas Board of Nursing to practice as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner
- Four years of experience in primary care as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- Experience using electronic medical records
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
- More than the required years of experience
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent professional demeanor
- Experience with electronic medical records, preferably Point and Click
- Familiarity in working in an integrated behavioral health clinic setting
- Experience working with college-age populations
