Position SummaryThe Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as a key HR resource responsible for overseeing and executing a wide range of strategic and operational HR functions. This role works independently, exercises significant judgment and discretion, and serves as a consultant to leaders on complex employee relations, policy interpretation, workforce planning, and organizational development matters.
Senior Human Resources Generalist ensures continuity of HR operations. The role oversees recruitment, employee relations investigations and training and development. The individual in this role contributes to both daily HR operations and long‑term business strategy through expert‑level HR guidance.
Key Accountabilities- Provide expert‑level HR guidance and support with autonomy and discretion
- Serve as a trusted consultant to leaders on employee relations, employment law, and organizational needs
- Interpret and recommend actions related to HR policies and performance issues
- Conduct and advise on complex investigations involving misconduct, harassment, and discrimination
- Serve as the delegated HR leader in the absence of the Human Resources Director
- Provide recommendations on hiring decisions and employment offers
- Advise leaders on corrective action, disciplinary steps, and policy interpretation
- Recommend disciplinary actions or corrective measures based on assessments
- Lead or support sensitive investigations requiring discretion and confidentiality
- Halt unsafe activities that present imminent danger to employees
- Assess workforce needs and collaborate with leadership to develop recruitment strategies
- Create and update job descriptions and job postings
- Manage applicant flow, evaluate candidate qualifications, and guide the selection process
- Represent the company at recruiting events, job fairs, and plant tours
- Oversee pre‑employment processes and lead onboarding activities
- Serve as a subject matter expert on employee relations, conflict resolution, and employment compliance
- Conduct investigations into misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and policy violations
- Provide guidance on performance improvement, behavioral concerns, and corrective action plans
- Advise leaders on complex employee situations requiring interpretation and application of law and policy
- Support training programs that advance compliance, leadership capability, and employee development
- Stay current on HR best practices, legal updates, and industry trends
- Maintain and enhance HR records, documentation, and reporting
- Support HR communications, policy rollouts, and organizational change initiatives
- Lead or participate in HR projects that improve processes and organizational effectiveness
- Perform full HR operational responsibilities in the Human Resources Director’s absence
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field required
- Minimum of five years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations and recruitment
- Demonstrated experience exercising independent judgment on HR matters
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with HRIS/ATS platforms preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend
- Ability to occasionally lift or exert up to 10 pounds
- Visual acuity sufficient for reading screens and documents (accommodations available)
- Hearing ability for communication with internal and external partners (accommodations available)
Primarily office‑based, with occasional exposure to manufacturing environments that may include:
- High noise levels
- Moving equipment
- Fumes, dust, or mist
- Oils, cutting fluids, or welding flash
- Attendance is an essential job function
- Employees must comply with AS9100, ISO 9000, and all related procedures
