About the RoleYou will serve as the HR Director, leading HR strategy and day-to-day HR operations across the business. You'll report directly to the President and partner closely with leadership to design, plan, and implement HR programs, policies, and people practices that support business goals, compliance, employee engagement, and operational effectiveness.
This is a hands-on leadership role with broad ownership and direct visibility to the executive team. You'll oversee payroll-related HR processes through Paycom, administer workers' compensation and benefits, lead recruitment and selection, support health and safety initiatives, and serve as a trusted business partner to leaders and employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do- Lead HR strategy, programs, and initiatives aligned with overall business goals and workforce needs.
- Oversee payroll-related HR processes through Paycom, ensuring accurate and timely pay in compliance with federal and Utah-specific regulations.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and life insurance.
- Administer workers' compensation insurance
- Lead the full recruitment and selection process for key roles, while partnering with managers to improve hiring quality, speed, and candidate experience.
- Support current and future business needs through employee development, engagement motivation, and retention.
- Serve as a strategic and hands-on HR partner to the President and leadership team in support of business goals, employee relations, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
- Coordinate team-building activities, company events, and other employee relations initiatives.
- Maintain strict confidentiality across personnel files, HR discussions, payroll, and investigations.
- Oversee a performance appraisal system that drives high performance across the team.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout all human resource management practices.
- Partner with site leaders on health, safety, and EHS compliance programs, including incident tracking, environmental reporting, safety initiatives, and employee training.
- 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including HR leadership experience.
- Hands-on payroll administration or payroll oversight experience, including Paycom.
- Proven HR experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial, fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of Utah applicable labor laws, FMLA, and pay practices.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Direct experience with workers' compensation, benefits administration, recruiting, and performance management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without employer sponsorship.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resource Management, Business, or a related field.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP), or PHR.
- Hands-on payroll administration experience, including ADP.
- Experience supporting health and safety/EHS programs specifically, beyond general compliance.
- Manufacturing/distribution environment with regular interaction across production, management, and administrative teams.
- Standard business hours with occasional flexibility for employee relations matters, investigations, or safe incidents.
- Occasional lifting up to 25lbs. (files, event/wellness supplies, etc.).
- Travel may be required.
