Unified Capabilities (UC) NOC Technician III
Our customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. This position directly supports the DISA‑provided GIG capabilities and services in the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC).
Shift work, nights and weekends required. Position may include extended periods of sitting while on a computer or phone and speaking with customers. Requires U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance.
Job Responsibilities- Create, update, and resolve network issues using Service Now platform.
- Notify contacts for essential or heightened awareness incidents.
- Execute network operations for customer circuits across TDM and SIP trunks.
- Work with customers, stakeholders, and leaders to maximize network availability.
- Proactively monitor network alarms via platform‑specific tools.
- Provide global situational awareness support to customers.
- Verify service restoration after ticket resolution.
- Deliver situational awareness to leadership and impacted community using approved communication methods.
- Record, assess, track, and monitor incident tickets escalated to operational infrastructure.
- Document outages/degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions in incident management applications.
- Perform configuration maintenance on route plans, route lists, device profiles, calling search spaces, and route partitions.
- Assess, identify, and recommend resolutions to network incidents and configuration deficiencies.
- Develop and recommend solutions and processes for UC and DRSN operations.
- Hold DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start date.
- Ability to work in a 24x7 shift work environment.
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- General understanding of voice infrastructure and IP network topologies.
- Experience with tech control facility or cyber transport.
- Experience in circuit actions.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite.
- Experience with alarm surveillance, call routing, SIP, media call flow, packet capture analysis, Juniper IP technologies.
- Knowledge of routers, switches, crypto devices, Cisco, Juniper, VTC, voice services, EVoIP/ECVoIP, VOIP, fly‑away kits, Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN), DSN Core.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 2–4 years of relevant experience.
