Technical Support Specialist and Programmer
Position Details: Hourly/Work Study. Weber State University – Ogden, UT.
Hourly Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.
Work Schedule: Minimum 20 hours per week, available between 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday‑Friday. Work is scheduled around student classes.
Job Summary / ResponsibilitiesThis part‑time position focuses primarily on C# programming and minor SQL/database programming on custom projects within Financial Services. Additional duties include web page maintenance and design for internal financial services web pages, customer service, desktop support, and general technical support for faculty, staff, and students via phone, e‑mail, chat, walk‑in, and desktop visits.
Work is performed as part of a technology support team with varying levels of programming and administration experience. The role provides hands‑on computer repair and programming exposure while allowing flexibility to accommodate coursework.
Required Qualifications- Current Weber State University student
- Programming experience in C# (classroom or professional)
- Computer setup and maintenance experience
- Skill in SQL and ability to troubleshoot computer and account issues
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Capacity to learn from written and oral instructions
- Experience creating and designing web pages (desired)
- Experience with Visual Studio
- Advanced C# programming skills
- Prior customer service experience and advanced troubleshooting skills
- Graphic design experience
- Database programming knowledge

Physical RequirementsMedium work. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly. No significant exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
