The AFCS is looking for a Full‑Time Lead Acquisition Program Management Specialist (NH‑1101‑03) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) at Hill Air Force Base in Davis County, UT. This federal job offers a rewarding and exciting career with benefits.

Position Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Lead Acquisition Program Management Specialist and senior subject matter expert, researching, developing, and recommending new and innovative corporate policies, practices, and processes for the management of AFSC/SWPA.

Perform official team lead duties over subordinate employees overseeing projects, assignments and studies encompassing acquisition programs. The Strategic Pre‑award Procurement Branch provides procurement support for the purchase of commercial supplies and services above $7.5M and non‑commercial supplies and services above simplified procurement threshold. Consolidate and analyze procurement data to determine potential for enterprise‑wide procurement solutions to provide consistent support.

Responsibilities
  • Lead acquisition program management and serve as a senior subject matter expert.
  • Research, develop and recommend new and innovative corporate policies, practices, and processes for AFSC/SWPA management.
  • Perform official team lead duties over subordinate employees overseeing projects, assignments and studies in acquisition programs.
  • Provide procurement support for the purchase of commercial supplies and services above $7.5M and non‑commercial supplies and services above simplified procurement threshold.
  • Consolidate and analyze procurement data to determine potential enterprise‑wide procurement solutions for consistent support.
  • Develop strategic procurement strategies utilizing FAR and non‑FAR based policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Obtain & maintain security clearance.
  • Designation as a drug‑testing position.
  • Must be able to pass a pre‑employment physical (if applicable).
  • Designation as a Non‑Critical Acquisition Position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).

    Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to plan, organize, lead functions, mentor and motivate staff.
  • Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
  • Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
  • Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices related to performance‑based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
  • Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations related to organizational issues; ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.
  • Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
  • Ability to utilize Art of the Possible concepts and initiatives to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization.
