POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Manager in our Ogden, Utah site is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operation of Balchems warehousing facilities. This role oversees inventory control, warehouse personnel, logistics coordination, and staffing to support operational and business needs. All duties are performed in accordance with established procedures and in compliance with Company safety policies, Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Continuous Improvement

* Drive Efficiency:
Collaborate regularly with shipping, receiving, production, quality, and logistics teams to identify operational bottlenecks and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

* Process Optimization:
Evaluate, develop, and obtain proposals/quotations for warehouse-related capital improvements, submitting recommendations to management to optimize site performance.

Environmental and Safety

* Waste Management & Environmental Stewardship:
Direct the proper and compliant identification, storage, handling, transport, and disposal of all types of waste (hazardous and non-hazardous, and plant chemicals in strict accordance with EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) and local applicable regulations.

* Safety Leadership:
Ensure safe working conditions are established, monitored, and maintained in compliance with Company policies, OSHA requirements, regulatory safety standards and industry best practices.

* Program Knowledge:
Maintain working knowledge of all plant environmental and safety programs, including DOT hazardous materials shipping, hazard communication, spill response, accident and injury reporting, vehicle movement, contractors management emergency evacuation, lockout/tagout, and ladder safety, among others.

* Equipment & PPE:
Oversee warehouse equipment operation/maintenance (PITs) and enforce strict, adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines across all plant and warehouse areas to mitigate occupational safety risks.

* Promptly address identified risks and unsafe conditions while promoting a proactive EHS culture among direct reports, colleagues, and contractors.

Regulatory Compliance and Food Safety

* Audit Readiness:
Maintain all warehouse locations in a constant, proactive state of audit readiness for external, internal, and regulatory inspections.

* Standards Adherence:
Ensure 100% adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Quality Control (QC) procedures, Quality Assurance (QA) protocols, FDA regulations, and SQF/HACCP food safety standards.

Inventory Management and Material Flow

* Material Flow Control:
Oversee shipping and receiving teams to manage raw materials and finished goods, ensuring flawless accuracy and lean material movement through the facility.

* Inventory Reconciliation:
Direct end-to-end inventory accuracy, cycle counting programs, and comprehensive reconciliation processes to support business planning needs.

Workforce and Facilities Management

* Team Development:
Lead, coach, mentor, and manage warehouse personnel to foster a high-performing, safe, and positive team environment.

* Labor Optimization:
Schedule, deploy, and align warehouse staff in a highly cost-effective manner, successfully minimizing overtime while easily meeting fast-paced operational demands.

* Facility Upkeep:
Direct everyday facilities management tasks, implementing proper ergonomic principles and coordinating physical plant maintenance.

Multiple Site Management

* Network Coordination:
Oversee and reconcile inventory across both internal and external warehouse locations to support broader supply chain needs.

* Vendor & Logistics Management:
Manage third-party warehouses and coordinate strategic shuttle transportation between multiple facilities to guarantee regional operational alignment.
