Operations Manager
Overview

We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor to lead our teams at our frozen vegetable processing facility in Ogden, UT. This position will supervise production and sanitation employees and, as needed, indirectly supervise warehouse and maintenance operations. The incumbent will coordinate with the Production Manager regarding production levels and collaborate with the management team to ensure effective overall plant operations.
This position is on the 3rd shift (graveyard shift), working approximately 10 p.m.–6:30 a.m.
Responsibilities- Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, and implement and enforce all policies and procedures as directed.
- Coordinate between Production and Warehouse to meet forklift and operator requirements.
- Report all accidents and injuries and complete accident and/or incident reports as required; ensure drug tests are administered.
- Ensure Forklift Operators perform daily forklift checklist procedures.
- Check the QA paperwork for compliance with established procedures.
- Annotate downtime on baggers, causes, and corrective actions; generate appropriate work orders as needed.
- Work with PKMS, coordinate product usage, and resolve product issues for the Production and Warehouse Department.
- Conduct food safety and personnel safety training.
- Maintain Forklift Certification and operate forklift equipment as necessary.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the different Production positions and oversee necessary training.
- Resolve employee grievances and refer unsettled grievances to the Human Resources Manager for action.
- Train, conduct, and record necessary training on the assigned shift.
- Conduct performance appraisals with employees.
- Maintain and champion all safety and GMP policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Follow all Company policies and procedures, including SOPs, Employee Handbook, Food Safety and Quality Procedures, Food Quality Policies, GMP Handbook, HACCP, and Pictsweet Safety Procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Ensure production accomplishes the assigned workload; spot-check Machine Operators’ paperwork to ensure they operate at established standards.
- Inspect repack, warehouse, maintenance, and dry warehouse areas to ensure they are orderly, clean, and organized.
- Oversee sanitation crew, including chemical application for sanitation processes and equipment cleaning.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred (four-year college or university).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Familiarity and proficiency with computers including email, spreadsheets, word processing, databases, warehousing software, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to perform arithmetic operations and interpret data (including rates, ratios, percentages and bar graphs).
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
