Job Summary
:
The Material Flow Supervisor owns the movement of materials from receiving to the production line. This role leads the warehouse/materials team, manages inventory accuracy, and ensures production has what it needs on time and without issues.
- Supervise, train, and develop the warehouse/material flow team.
- Assign work, set expectations, and hold the team accountable for accuracy, pace, and safety.
- Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance discussions.
- Oversee receiving, put‑away, material staging, line replenishment, and internal material movements.
- Ensure materials arrive to production on time, in the right quantities, and in usable condition.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and adherence to safety procedures.
- Own inventory accuracy across all Qnergy locations.
- Lead cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all ERP transactions are completed accurately and in real time.
- Monitor shortages, backorders, and critical material risks; escape early and clearly.
- Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering to resolve issues fast.
- Provide clear communication on material flow status and impacts to the production schedule.
- Standardize and improve material handling, labeling, routing, and replenishment workflows.
- 2 – 3 years of supervisor experience in materials, warehousing, logistics, or inventory control.
- 3 – 5 years of experience working in shipping & receiving, logistics, scheduling, or inventory control.
- Hands‑on experience supporting a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification required.
- Experience in high‑mix/low‑volume manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, FIFO, cycle counting, and material flow.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and a high sense of ownership over data integrity.
- Solid leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, hands‑on operation.
- Detail‑oriented, consistent, organized, and able to multi‑task.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Lean, 5S, and standard work.
- Manufacturing/warehouse environment with frequent, walking, standing, and material handling.
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. with or without assistance.
