NDT Technician Lv Titanium X-Ray Weekend Shift - Ogden, UT

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing quality inspections using various NDT methods (X‑Ray [Film and CR], Penetrant, Magnetic Particle testing). Process, inspect, and evaluate surface and subsurface discontinuities and accept, reject, or rework hardware according to customer specifications.
• Certify products that are in conformance with customer specifications and maintain traceability.
• Create NDT techniques and work instructions.
• Perform penetrant, X‑ray, and magnetic particle inspections and interpret results.
• Perform preventative maintenance and calibrations on NDT equipment.
• Operate vapor degreaser and perform necessary process checks.
• Properly process, sort, and verify X‑ray film.
• Perform etch, passivation, and electropolish as needed.
• Grind, finish, and sandblast parts as needed.
• Communicate closely with engineers on scrap, rework, and process issues.
• Ensure paperwork is properly completed.
• Assist other areas as needed.
• Accept hazardous waste training if required.
• Meet all requirements to certify in RT, PT, and/or MP.
• Demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of inspections and components to established standards.
• Read and interpret specifications and understand gauging and measuring equipment.
• Communicate with tact and diplomacy to achieve desired results.
• Work in a production environment.
• Read and comprehend English, blueprints, and specifications.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
• Solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables where limited standardization exists.
• Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
• Perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Lift and carry up to 35 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. continuously.
• Meet near‑vision requirement (Jaeger J1, both eyes, ≥12 in.) and yearly color‑perception test (Ishihara, 20 of 24).
• Use Microsoft Office applications.
• Pass PCC NDT certifications required by in‑house Plant Level II.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers.
• Comply with company and departmental policies, including attendance policy.
• Meet individual productivity and internal quality requirements.
• Hold a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Work under indirect supervision following established practices and clear‑cut policies.
• Occasionally work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Work near hazardous waste.
• Work continuously in wet or humid conditions, with fumes or airborne particles, and risk of radiation.
• Occasionally walk, reach above shoulder level, and speak.
• Frequent stooping or squatting, hearing, pushing, or pulling.
• Continuous standing, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching below shoulder level.
• Work in a loud noise environment; appropriate ear protection required.

• Certify in RT, PT, and/or MP.
• In‑depth knowledge of inspections and components to established standards.
• Read and interpret specifications and gauging equipment.
• Communicate tactfully and diplomatically.
• Lifting capacity: 35 lbs. occasionally, 25 lbs. continuously.
• Near‑vision requirement (Jaeger J1), color‑perception test annually.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Pass PCC NDT certifications required by in‑house Plant Level II.
