Manufacturing Engineer II

Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to join its engineering team in Ogden, Utah. This role is responsible for developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective production while meeting customer, company, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on manufacturing engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, improving processes, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support the production of highly engineered aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support for customer parts and assemblies from development through production.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to maximize quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate engineering, tooling, and manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and budget requirements.
  • Establish and implement process controls to ensure repeatable and compliant manufacturing operations.
  • Support and oversee manufacturing processes including:
    Welding, Heat Treat, Brazing, Vacuum Furnace Operations, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Laser Processing, Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), Sheet Metal Forming.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes, tooling, and procedures comply with customer requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Investigate manufacturing issues, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions for process or product non‑conformances.
  • Develop and maintain statistical tools and process monitoring systems including trend analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Support customer Requests for Quote (RFQs) by providing technical input, manufacturing estimates, and process recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and Production teams to resolve technical challenges and support customer needs.
  • Develop new manufacturing methods and revise existing processes to improve throughput, quality, and production efficiency.
  • Support implementation of new engineering standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Manufacturing Engineering experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with one or more of the following manufacturing processes:
    Machining, Sheet Metal Forming, Welding, Brazing, Heat Treat, Vacuum Furnace Operations, NDT, Laser Processing, EDM.
  • Experience with titanium, nickel alloys, superalloys, or other aerospace materials is a plus.
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes, routers, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and process optimization.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret:
    Customer drawings, Engineering specifications, Industry standards, Manufacturing procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • CAD experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and with external customers.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred.
