Become a Key Player as a Machinist Technician

You will set up and operate complex conventional and CNC machining centers to produce precision parts that meet tight tolerances. You will work onsite with production, engineering, and quality stakeholders to improve processes and support lean initiatives; shift options include Swing and Weekend schedules.

Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team
  • Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of conventional and special-purpose machines for complex production runs
  • Run multiple machines and perform simultaneous operations when required
  • Interpret blueprints, complex drawings, engineering specifications, and quality directives
  • Interface with engineering to resolve drawing errors and suggest design or process changes
  • Develop and define processes and implement manufacturing methods using standard machines, materials, and tooling
  • Make complex setups including multiple workpiece stations and custom holding devices
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments and perform SPC to ensure conformance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining problems and maintain equipment calibration and cleanliness
  • Contribute to lean initiatives and provide guidance on workload priorities
  • Train and mentor less experienced team members
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
  • Five or more years of directly related machining experience in a high-technology manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Swiss lathes, grinders, manual machining, and mills
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, complex drawings, and engineering specifications
  • Proven ability to make and evaluate precision machine setups and use precision measuring instruments (gages, calipers, micrometers)
  • Working knowledge of advanced shop mathematics (may include trigonometry)
  • Experience performing statistical process control (SPC)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to mentor others
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Here's What Else Might Help You Out
  • Experience using a coordinate measuring machine (CMM)
  • Specialized or certified operator credentials specific to division requirements
Pay Range

$32.00 - $40.00/hour
