Office Assistant - Study Abroad

WSU Study Abroad is looking for two students with separate job responsibilities, each related to marketing. At least one of the students hired must be Work Study eligible. Both positions will engage in promoting study abroad opportunities to the university community.

A dynamic student who can connect with others and promote studying abroad through tabling, classroom visits, and online communication. The student will engage fellow students by discussing benefits, costs, scholarships, and program availability. When not on campus, duties include answering phones, responding to emails, maintaining databases, and performing general office tasks.

A student with knowledge of social media and marketing to promote studying abroad via social media, posters, and other marketing materials. Responsibilities include creating content for Facebook and Instagram at least once per week, designing posters and social media posts, maintaining program information on the Study Abroad website, and performing typical office duties such as customer service, answering phones, and maintaining databases.

• Full‑time degree‑seeking student for the semester (12 credits Fall & Spring, 6 credits Summer)
• Customer service experience
• Ability to work individually and with a team
• Knowledge of content creation platforms such as Canva, Adobe Express, Adobe Photoshop (Position #2 only)
• Graphic design knowledge (Position #2 only)

• Study abroad experience
• Ability to multitask
• Major in Marketing, Digital Media Design, Professional Sales, or related area, or relevant experience

Bending at the knees, bending forward, extending arms, standing, walking, moving about, using upper extremities against resistance, grasping, expressing ideas, receiving instructions, repetitive wrist/hand motions.

Sedentary work. Exert up to 10 lbs occasionally. Light work: up to 20 lbs occasionally or up to 10 lbs frequently. Sitting most of the time, with occasional standing or walking.

Visual acuity, color, depth perception, and field of vision required for data preparation, analysis, transcription, computer use, and reading.

The worker will not be substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (typical office or administrative work). Conditions include typical office lighting, temperatures, and ergonomic setups.
