Paramedic

Free Standing ER – Syracuse, Utah

12 hr shifts – mixed days & nights

Paramedic at Ogden Regional Medical Center – part of HCA Healthcare. You will work as part of a dedicated team caring like family.

• Maintain clear communication with attending physician and licensed nurse about patient care issues.
• Assist with patient examinations or treatments, observe and report patient signs or symptoms.
• Take vital signs, measure and record patient input and output.
• Attach oxygen and cardiac monitors, monitor cardiac rhythm, perform 12‑lead EKG, document strips, suction patient airways as directed, and report findings to physician and care team.
• Receive patients from EMS personnel and prepare them for physician care.
• Collect routine laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory procedures as directed.
• Assist emergency department physicians with procedures including central line insertions, lumbar punctures, defibrillation, cardioversion, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, arterial line placement, suturing, needle chest decompress ions, endotracheal and nasotracheal intubation, intra‑osseous line insertion, endotracheal suctioning, and airway device placement.
• Perform CPR, defibrillation, cardioversion, and transcutaneous pacing during emergencies.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 7 days of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Active paramedic license.
