Position Summary

The Division Quality Director leads the quality function for the Commercial Flight Controls Division, championing the Parker Lean System and quality philosophy. The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective quality management system aligned with organizational goals, customer expectations, and industry standards. Key duties include driving continuous improvement through ISO 9001 compliance, problem‑solving tools, prevention methods, and quality‑at‑source initiatives, and serving as the Division’s Quality Representative.

Scope

& Reporting

This role reports directly to the Division General Manager, with a dotted line to the VP of Quality, and is a critical part of the senior leadership team managing a large, complex aerospace business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure documentation and execution of the quality management system meet corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Train and develop personnel to uphold quality standards and competencies.
  • Manage internal, customer, and third‑party audits, ensuring timely and effective resolution of findings.
  • Oversee corrective actions and root‑cause analysis to address nonconformities and complaints.
  • Utilize performance metrics to monitor quality, customer satisfaction, and cost of poor quality; drive targeted improvements.
  • Partner with supply chain to develop and implement supplier quality strategies, including capability assessments and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with engineering on product development and design reviews to ensure quality and reliability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience, with at least 5 years leading a quality department in a large, complex manufacturing business; aerospace background required.
  • Expertise in AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • ASQ certifications preferred (CQE, CSSBB, CQMgr).
  • Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis.
  • Strong leadership, project management, facilitation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experienced in presenting to executive leadership.
