TheOpportunity
The Supplier Quality Engineer will perform quality oversight on purchased products to ensure conformance to specification(s). The individual will work in a team environment and perform on‑site supplier audits (certification to WI processes, production verifications, failure investigations, procurement issues).
Key Responsibilities- Disposition non‑conforming hardware received from the supply base.
- Manage supplier failure investigations and corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier performance relative to quality and delivery.
- Assist Supply Chain Management in selection (or deselection) of suppliers.
- Work with Supply Chain / Manufacturing to assist with receiving and inspection.
- Review/approve supplier part / process documentation, including but not limited to FAIRs, PPAP and Vendor Change requests.
- Audit suppliers (and internal manufacturing cells) processes and documentation and quality management systems.
- Support the preferred supplier program, part and supplier certification efforts.
- Develop and maintain various PC computer databases, records, and spreadsheets for statistical and status reporting as required.
- Accumulate statistical data and create/update statistical charts and graphs using Microsoft Office products.
- Assist quality audit group as needed; this may involve support of 3rd party audits of WI QMS system and internal auditing.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) readings and how to read drawing notes.
- 0–10 years of experience in quality engineering or a related discipline, with familiarity in PPAP methodologies and supplier quality processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to professionally represent Williams International when interacting with suppliers, 3rd‑party auditors, and, when applicable, OEM customers.
- Must be willing to travel an average of 25% of the time with some trips taking place on short notice.
- U.S. citizenship required.
The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
