Job Summary

Lab Technician will assist in lab preparation and clean‑up in the chemistry laboratory, handling a variety of chemicals and applications. The successful candidate must be consistent, reliable, and able to attend to assigned duties with attention to detail.

Required Qualifications
  • Student at Weber State University
  • Successful completion of Principles of Chemistry I (Chem 1210 lecture and 1215 lab) or higher‑level chemistry courses and labs
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, ability to work well with others, and strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • Major in Chemistry or Biochemistry or related field
  • Eligibility for Federal Work Study program
  • Preference for Work Study, though open to other students
Physical Requirements

The position requires frequent standing, reaching, and occasional lifting of objects up to 20 pounds, as well as light to moderate force for routine tasks.

Visual Requirements

Employees must have adequate visual acuity, including color and depth perception, to perform laboratory tasks, data analysis, and computer use.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a chemistry laboratory with exposure to chemical hazards, noise, vibrations, and atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, and poor ventilation.
