This position is for approximately 20 hours per week.
Position OverviewThe Cook supports school nutrition services by preparing meals that meet mandated nutritional requirements, maintaining sanitary food preparation environments, and ensuring efficient food service operations for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook food items from recipes or prepared ingredients to meet nutritional standards.
- Estimate food quantities and adjust recipes to meet meal production needs.
- Inspect food items to verify quality and compliance with health standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas.
- Monitor kitchen operations to ensure safe and sanitary food service practices.
- Maintain inventory of food, supplies, and condiments required for meal preparation.
- Prepare special dietary meals and allergy-safe food items as required.
- Evaluate food quality and presentation before service.
- Assist with serving food items to students and staff.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Participate in training sessions and meetings related to food service operations.
- Assist with other food service duties when necessary to ensure adequate staffing.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

ExperienceJob-related experience is desired.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.

Certificates and LicensesFood Handler’s or Serv Safe Certification.
Continuing Education / TrainingDistrict-required annual training.
