Store Manager In Training (SMIT)

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development‑focused role crafted to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position.

The SMIT program provides a 16‑week, self‑paced, collaborative training experience that includes virtual and hands‑on learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to support and lead the store team.
  • Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
  • Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  • Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
Job Expectations
  • Actively engage with leadership in Key Learning Experiences to support promotion during the structured program.
  • Support the store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
  • Engage colleagues to help people on their path to better health.
  • Be willing to accept promotion roles and manage a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
  • Transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market if required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Four‑year college degree preferred.
  • Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor considered.
  • Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
  • Willingness to accept promotion to Store Manager role at any location in the designated market.
Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated weekly hours: 45. Time type: full time.

Pay range: $18.50 – $23.88 per hour. Salary is based on experience, education, geography and other factors.
