MARS Shop Assistant

The shop assistant will help MARS staff in maintaining the MARS shop area. Responsibilities include organization of tools, clean up, creation of maintenance and operation manuals, and other miscellaneous tasks as arise.

• Applicants must be over 16 years of age.
• Applicants over 18 years old will also be expected to run machine shop tools such as bandsaw, drill press, milling machine, lathe, and water jet among others.

Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

• Sedentary work.
• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or consistently to move objects, including the human body.
• Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing only occasionally if ever.

Not required.

None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
