Job SummaryThe intern will assist MARS staff to research tasks related to advanced materials fabrication and development. The intern will fabricate parts, prepare test specimens, perform experiments, collect and analyze data, and prepare summary reports.
Required QualificationsPreferred: majoring in Engineering or another related STEM field. Experience with shop tools (mill and lathe preferred), additive manufacturing, composite materials, CAD, coding, Microsoft Office. Self‑motivated, able to commute to MARS Center in Clearfield, Utah, and capable of lifting 50 pounds overhead.
Physical RequirementsRepetitive motion involving substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Sedentary work. Occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force or negligible force frequently to move objects. Sleeping most of the time; walking and standing only occasionally if ever. Visual acuity not required. No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
